"The Diary of Anne Frank" is playing at Herberger Theater Center through June 2, 2018.

"The Diary of Anne Frank" is assigned reading in classrooms across many parts of the world — including the United States — where students can learn about how one girl and her family tried to hide from the Nazis in Amsterdam.

Its power and inspiration have extended through the decades and many people believe its messages are even more relevant now than they’ve been in years.

Arizona Theatre Company is presenting a production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" at the Herberger Theatre Center in downtown Phoenix, which runs through June 2.

The Show spoke with the play’s director, David Ira Goldstein, and one of the stars, Naama Potok who portrays Anne’s mother, Edith Frank. Potok has an especially personal connection to the subject matter, as more than 100 of her father’s relatives were killed in the Holocaust.
