Fort Worth, Texas, Trying To Poach Arizona Teachers Unhappy With Their Jobs

Texas Teacher Poaching Billboard
Kayla Koch/Cronkite News
Billboards have been appearing throughout the Phoenix area advertising job opportunities for teachers in Texas.

Five new billboards are going up around Phoenix. Not a big number, especially if you’re comparing them to campaigns of the big brand names, but these billboards are definitely turning heads.

They are targeting teachers unhappy with their pay here in Arizona and promising larger salaries if they move to Fort Worth, Texas, and work in the fifth largest district there, Fort Worth Independent School District.

So will this poaching strategy work? Clint Bond, spokesman for the district, hopes so.
