Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey will not glide through the Republican primary as a solo candidate.

Former Secretary of State Ken Bennett appeared to have collected enough signatures to put his name on the GOP gubernatorial ballot.

Although he is well known, he remains an underdog for the August 28 primary, if his signatures qualify.

Filing under public financing laws, Bennett can collect up to $839,704. Meanwhile, Ducey has no limit running with private donations and has already raised nearly $3.4 million for his campaign run.

The GOP winner in that primary will face Libertarian Kevin McCormick, and the winner of the Democratic ticket.

Educator David Garcia, state Senator Steve Farley and YWCA CEO Kelly Frye all turned in signatures on Wednesday to run in the Democratic gubernatorial primary.
