Three Arizona university presidents will soon be getting a raise.
The Arizona Board of Regents approved increases to their base six-figure salaries during a special board meeting on Thursday.
The presidents getting raises are Arizona State University’s Michael Crow, Northern Arizona University’s Rita Cheng and University of Arizona’s Robert Robbins. Crow is now making $690,000, Cheng is being paid $475,000 and Robbins will make $675,000 as of July 1.
“The presidents are unparalleled assets for the state and have the tremendous responsibility of ensuring these institutions are sustainable for future generations of Arizonans," ABOR Chair Bill Ridenour said in a statement.
He said the increase in their salaries is based on their performance.
