A global technology company has plans to build a second data center in the Valley.
The City of Mesa announced in a press release CyrusOne purchased almost 70 acres near the 202 freeway and Elliot Road from a private owner.
The company plans to build a data center, basically, a space where other organizations store and access information.
The Mesa center will support cloud computing.
CyrusOne operates 45 data centers in the US, including one in Chandler built in 2012.
Mesa has marketed itself specifically to data center operators, in part, because of tax exemptions provided in the state.
