The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles were all set to visit the White House this week, even though a number of the team’s players weren’t enthusiastic about meeting President Trump. So the Eagles’ invitation was rescinded, highlighting the President’s criticism of players who he claims don’t respect members of the U.S. military thanks to last season’s protests that included kneeling during the National Anthem.
It’s not the first time players have found other things to do instead of going to the White House, but the issue has been magnified in the Trump White House.
