Phoenix Burton Barr Library Set To Reopen After Flooding Caused Nearly Year-Long Closure

Last July, a pipe burst on the fifth floor of Phoenix’s Burton Barr Central Library during a monsoon. That caused flooding that forced the library to close. Now, after nearly a year, it’s set to reopen on Saturday, and workers are hustling to make sure the library is ready.

The Show visited Burton Barr earlier this week to see how those preparations are coming and to see what’s changed inside the library since it was last open. Lee Franklin, community relations manager for Phoenix Public Library, was the tour guide.
