The Arizona Game and Fish Commission unanimously voted to ban the use of live-action trail cameras.
However, the June 8 meeting shelved a provision that would ban the use of other trail cameras within a quarter mile of a developed water source.
Trail cameras are often used by hunters to track deer and other animals. The commission's vote bans cameras that send photos, video or satellite imagery in real-time to a computer or cellphone.
The public comment period on the decision begins in July.
