The U.S. House is scheduled to take up two immigration reform bills this week, and both of them have DACA recipients — the so-called "DREAMers"— at the center. The DREAMers have the option of pursuing higher education or serving in the military.
A recent study indicates that the chance to achieve greater educational opportunities is leading to more DACA recipients — especially young women — to attend college. Numbers also indicate significantly lower rates of pregnancy among those who are high school aged. And some of that could be attributed to DACA.
With The Show to talk about the study was one of the researchers, Na’ama Shenhav, an assistant professor of economics at Dartmouth.
