How To Recognize When A Friend, Loved One Is At Greater Risk For Suicide

The number of people choosing to take their own lives in the United States is on the rise.

The recent suicides of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain have brought the issue into the spotlight again, with an emphasis being on the importance of calling prevention hotlines and a willingness to open up about concerns.

But how much can be done to recognize when a friend or loved one is in despair and could be at greater risk for suicide?

With The Show to talk about that was Joel Dvoskin, a psychologist at the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine.
