Thursday morning on CNN, U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan spoke about immigration legislation in a press conference.
“We never promised an outcome, but we promised an effort," said Ryan.
That sums up the sunny face the Republican majority is trying to put on a bill process marked by in-fighting.
Two GOP-backed bills will hit the floor Thursday for votes.
