Arizona Democrats Want Ducey To Investigate Child Migrant Shelters In State

The Democrat caucus calls the separation of children from their parents by the U.S. government "child abuse."

And they say they’re not being allowed in to any of the migrant shelters managed by Health and Humans Services in Arizona.

So they are demanding that Gov. Doug Ducey order the Departments of Health Services and the Department of Child Safety to conduct welfare checks and investigate any claims of abuse or neglect.

"It is incumbent on us as elected officials and human beings to make sure those kids are OK," Arizona Democrat Charlene Fernandez said.

The governor has said he sympathizes with the children but hasn’t expressed further criticism or support for the Trump Administration’s enforcement policy.
