For the first time in team history, the Phoenix Suns had the top overall pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday night. The choice was University of Arizona center Deandre Ayton.
The team chose three other players as well, including Mikal Bridges from Villanova.
For an organization in its worst playoff drought and coming off a terrible season, the draft could provide a huge shot of optimism — or, in two years, everyone may be ruing the day as a failure.
