Valley Fever Cases On The Rise In Arizona

It’s monsoon season, which means dust storms. And when the dust gets kicked up, Valley Fever spreads.

The latest numbers from the state health department show that reported cases of the disease from this May are significantly higher than they were in May of last year, and there are more than 3600 reported cases in the state so far this year.

Joining The Show to talk about this is Dr. John Galgiani, director of the Valley Fever Center for Excellence at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
