Even in the 1950s, they knew how important it was to cut loose and cruise down the streets, but today’s teens don’t seem quite as fascinated by owning and driving a car. The Federal Highway Administration’s numbers show a 46 percent decline in the number of 16-year-old Americans with a driver’s license.
