Space Barons: Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and the Quest to Colonize the Cosmos by Christian Davenport

In the 1960s, many astronauts were household names — think Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and John Glenn. But today, NASA astronauts are largely anonymous, and it’s the people funding space travel that are more well-known like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

Chris Davenport wrote about this — he covers the defense and space industries for The Washington Post, which is owned by Bezos. He’s also author of the book "Space Barons: Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and the Quest to Colonize the Cosmos." He joined The Show to discuss the ways modern astronauts are both the same and different from their early counterparts.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
