The monsoon storms hit the Valley hard this week. On Monday, the National Weather Service reported winds of 50 miles per hour along with nearly 2 inches of rain — and tens of thousands of residents lost power.
For a lot of us, the wet weather is a welcome reprieve from the summer heat. But for some, these storms can be devastating.
Tia Oso’s family lost their Mesa home of 75 years during Monday’s storm when a 150-foot-tall tree fell on top of it. Her mother and two other family members were inside at the time, and though no one was seriously injured, the house may be a total loss.
The Show spoke with Oso when she was at the hospital with her mother to find out what happened and how they're dealing with the situation.
