Mesa Family's Home Destroyed By Tree During Monsoon

The monsoon storms hit the Valley hard this week. On Monday, the National Weather Service reported winds of 50 miles per hour along with nearly 2 inches of rain — and tens of thousands of residents lost power.

For a lot of us, the wet weather is a welcome reprieve from the summer heat. But for some, these storms can be devastating.

Tia Oso’s family lost their Mesa home of 75 years during Monday’s storm when a 150-foot-tall tree fell on top of it. Her mother and two other family members were inside at the time, and though no one was seriously injured, the house may be a total loss.

The Show spoke with Oso when she was at the hospital with her mother to find out what happened and how they're dealing with the situation.
