NAU To Study How Climate Change May Affect Re-Vegetation After Wildfires

Once a wildfire is contained, one of the biggest efforts is to re-vegetate the area that was burned.

Researchers at Northern Arizona University have received a nearly $1 million federal grant to look at how climate change may affect that work.

Clare Aslan is one of those researchers. She’s an assistant professor and conservation biologist at NAU, and she spoke with The Show.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
