Arizona Water Paradox: Population Up, Use Down

Arizona water leaders are working on a drought contingency plan to present to lawmakers next year, and there’s been a lot of talk about the potential of a shortage declaration on Lake Mead, which would trigger water cutbacks.

But there’s a paradox in Arizona: as the state’s population has increased, its water usage has decreased.

The Show caught up with Arizona Republic environment reporter Joshua Bowling, who  has written about it.
