All Train Tracks Running Again In Marana After Derailment

Freight trains are running once again on both sets of Union Pacific tracks in Marana, after 27 freight cars derailed earlier this week.

Police are now investigating the crash after drugs were found in the wreckage.

Union Pacific spokesman Jeff DeGraff said a package of suspected narcotics were turned over to Marana Police. He said the tracks were reopened after being cleared of equipment and repaired. The cars derailed Tuesday during a heavy rainstorm, but DeGraff said further information on cause of the incident is not available.

He previously said the derailed cars carried consumer and manufactured goods but that no hazardous materials were released or involved in the derailment.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
