Tuesday marks the first day of the national LULAC conference at the Phoenix Convention Center. That’s the League of United Latin American Citizens and it's the oldest surviving Latino civil rights organization in the U.S.
Among the sessions about inclusion and activism, there are talks about civic engagement, public policy, health care, immigration and more — all of which are, of course, important results of voting.
But even though Latino voters are growing by leaps and bounds in demographics, this hasn’t translated to powerful returns at the polls, not yet anyway.
For a snapshot of Latino voting numbers now, The Show was joined by Mindy Romero of the California Civic Engagement Project at University of Southern California.
