Heavy rain has reached the Flagstaff area. According to the National Weather Service, about 3 to 4 inches fell up north earlier Wednesday.

Jon Paxton, with the Coconino County Sheriff's Office, said the office is teaming up with emergency management to assess the flooding northeast of Flagstaff along Highway 89.

“We responded to some reports of flooding in the area for public safety reasons," Paxton said. "We do have some reports of heavy rainfall in the area, some flooding in the roads, but to what extent we don’t know right now.”

Paxton said drivers up north should be especially cautious and look out for anything blocking the roads.
