Tourists with upcoming camping or room reservations at the Havasupai Lodge in Supai may have to reschedule.
The Havasu Falls area, a picturesque hiking and camping destination, was supposed to be closed for seven to 10 days after a flash flood in mid-July.
But on Tuesday, the Havasupai Tribal Council announced the remote section of the Grand Canyon will be closed to visitors until the end of August.
The mid-July flood forced the evacuation of about 200 tourists by helicopter.
