The massive Carr and Ferguson wildfires continue to burn across parts of California, and they are part of over a dozen wildfires spread across the state. Firefighters are a great demand, and Arizona is helping provide relief.

As of Monday, 75 engines and 375 fire personnel from departments across Arizona are in California to fight the fires.

Tiffany Davila is with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management. She said it's not unusual for Arizona firefighters to help other states, adding that there is fire personnel in Oregon, Nevada and Montana as well.

"As California's requesting help," Davila said, "we're definitely going to lend a hand. They need a lot of boots on the ground right now and we're going to send as many resources as we can."

Beside fighting the current wildfires, Davila said that the firefighters will focus on containing any new fires as lightning is in the forecast for the week ahead. They'll also help staff local stations.
