Democratic Gubernatorial Candidates To Debate On Live TV

The Democratic candidates for Arizona Governor will debate Tuesday night.

State Senator Steve Farley, Southern Arizona YWCA CEO Kelly Fryer and education Professor David Garcia will answer questions from moderators and square off in a live hourlong debate.

The debate starts at 7 p.m., airing on Arizona PBS and livestreaming on AZCentral.com.

There will be no corresponding Republican event as Gov. Doug Ducey has declined to debate his primary challenger, former Secretary of State Ken Bennett.

Ducey is not obligated to debate, though Bennett, who plans to run with public financing, is required by law to do so.

Unless Ducey changes his mind, Bennett will instead answer questions from moderators for half an hour on public television before the August primary.
