The Trump administration has publicly focused on cracking down on undocumented immigration, but it has also taken steps to limit legal immigration.
That has specifically affected workers applying for H-1B visas, as the number of denials rose dramatically in the last quarter — as well as the number of requests for evidence.
Those are used to look more deeply into the efficacy of an application and can involve information on the H-1B petitioner or a past employer.
