Arizona’s trading relationship with Mexico has led to billions of dollars in economic impact. A key component of that trade is the ability of commercial trucks to cross the border in an efficient way — and any kind of slowdown would be an unwelcome challenge.
So a little more than a year ago, the Arizona Department of Transportation started a program aimed at helping ease traffic at the border by training Mexican truck drivers in getting their vehicles ready to pass inspection.
