Early ballots are arriving in mailboxes and Arizona’s primary elections are less than a month away. In advance of that, KJZZ has been inviting in the candidates running in contested races to talk about why they’re running and some of the key issues in their contests.

Gov. Doug Ducey was elected governor four years ago and is running for a second term. He’s facing former Secretary of State Ken Bennett in the Republican primary. The winner will oppose one of the three Democrats running in that primary.

Ducey’s first campaign ad focuses on his record, and his campaign often offers a “then and now” view of Arizona’s last four years.
