Flooding In Mayer Prompts Evacuations

Flooding in Mayer, Arizona, prompted a mandatory evacuation Thursday evening.

The American Red Cross opened a shelter at the Mayer High school at the request of the Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management.

The flooding hit the same area that was affected by the Goodwin fire in 2017.

A Red Cross official said there were 80 homes affected by the evacuation.
