Local FBI Division Recruiting New Agents

The Federal Bureau of Investigations is recruiting.

Arizonans interested in a career dismantling espionage, organized crime, and terrorist plots will get their chance next week to hear about working for the FBI.

On August 22, the bureau will hold its Diversity Agent Recruitment event as it searches for the next wave of federal investigators.

"It's a pre-employment opportunity for individuals to come in and meet with some current FBI agents and FBI employees here in the Phoenix field office," said FBI Special Agent Ezell Grigsby.

The agency will be looking for bilingual recruits who are in their early 20s to mid 30s. Applicants must also have a bachelor's degree and at least three years of work experience.

Grigsby said, however, it's not necessary to have a law enforcement background. The agency's website claims it has hired people with various experiences including accountants, military vets, scientists and pilots.

Candidates are asked to visit the FBI job site before showing up Wednesday.
