Monsoon thunderstorms in the Valley Friday evening  caused caused a power outage at Talking Stick Resort and Casino. Several guests were awakened just after 2:30 in the morning Saturday and told to evacuate.

Salt River Police Detective Joseph Orozco said guests were transported to a nearby parking lot and police substation.

“We have actually just completed the ferrying process," Orozco said. "We had a lot of the patrons coming back to pick up some of their belongings. At this time there’s no ETA or update on the extent of damages or when the casino will be back open.”

Orozco said the rain also caused parts of the resort to flood.
