The Arizona State University football team is scheduled to start its 2018 season on Sept. 1, but the east side of the Sun Devil Stadium is still under construction.
Project manager Isaac Manning said about 500 workers are there every morning.
“We still have a long way to go, but we’re gonna get there and it will be right down to the wire like it was in 2016,” he said. “But we can see the goal line from here and we’re punching it in.”
Manning said the recent monsoon storms didn’t set back the project, but construction did take longer than expected due to the shortage of available steel.
