How Financially Prepared Are States, Including Arizona, For The Next Recession?

Arizona’s recently-ended fiscal year brought in a record amount of money, but an analysis done by Moody’s Analytics shows the state isn’t fully prepared to weather the next recession.

Moody’s forecasts that to happen sometime in early 2020, and thinks it’ll be more moderate than the Great Recession.

Dan White is director of government consulting and public finance research at Moody’s Analytics and he joined The Show to discuss the prediction and what states nationwide are doing to prepare.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
