Expect A Quiet Weekend With Few Monsoon Storms

After a busy several days of storm activity across the metro area, the chance of a monsoon storm is low this weekend, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Jarrett Rogers.

“We’ll still probably see the typical afternoon buildups of thunderstorms over the mountains, but as far as getting thunderstorms in the desert close to Phoenix, there's only a slight chance for Friday and then it looks like even dryer conditions for Saturday and Sunday,” he said.

Rogers said while it’s hard to guarantee anything during the tumultuous monsoon season, weather patterns reflect a calmer weekend in the Valley.
