The director of the University of Arizona's arts program has resigned, citing a culture of racism, discrimination and unfair compensation.
In May, Candace Feldman, who identifies as a woman of color, filed discrimination charges with state and federal civil rights agencies against the university. The U.S. Justice Department is currently pursuing an equal-pay claim on her behalf.
University spokesman Chris Sigurdson told the Arizona Daily Star that the university is reviewing the allegations and takes them seriously.
