Crowds are gathered at the Arizona Capitol on Wednesday morning where Sen. John McCain will lie in state.
There was private ceremony for the late senator at 10 a.m. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, former Sen. Jon Kyl, Sen. Jeff Flake and Father Edward Reese all spoke at the memorial held in the Capitol Rotunda.
The Capitol opened to the public just before 1 p.m., about an hour earlier than scheduled.

McCain family spokesman Rick Davis says everyone will have a chance to pay their respects.
