Being a columnist is one of the top ambitions for many people in the newspaper business.
It’s the chance to express opinions on any number of topics — to, as some writers have said it, “come in and shoot the wounded.”
Longtime Arizona Republic reporter Karina Bland recently got that opportunity — as she was moved to A2 of the paper to write 300 words six days a week in the spot that the late Clay Thompson filled.
She came on The Show to talk about being a columnist.
