Arizona's new U.S. senator, Jon Kyl, has only committed, at least so far, to serve through the end of the year.

That could set up another appointment in 2019. But, regardless of how long Kyl chooses to serve, there will be a special senate election in 2020.

The winner of that race would fill out the rest of the late Sen. John McCain’s term, which runs through 2022.

Former Arizona attorney general, and McCain’s former congressional chief of staff, Grant Woods,  says he’s thinking about running — but not as a Republican.

Woods spoke about this with Howie Fischer of Capitol Media Services, who joined The Show to speak more about it.
