Mayo Clinic announced plans to double the size of its North Phoenix Campus over the next five years.
In a statement, Mayo Clinic announced the $648 million expansion will add 1.4 million square feet of building space. It will also increase inpatient beds and create more than 2,000 new jobs, including some 200 new physicians by 2029.
Gov. Doug Ducey welcomed the news saying Mayo Clinic’s presence in Arizona has "propelled our state’s health care and bioscience industry."
The new facilities are expected to open as early as June 2020, with the final phase opening in April 2023.
