Arizona Forest Thinning Project Aims To Protect Water Supply

Supported by Intel

A number of state and federal agencies have joined forces on a plan to improve forest health and protect water supplies on the Mogollon Rim.

The project appears to be a scaled-down version of past efforts, like the Four Forest Restoration Initiative ( 4Fri).

Joshua Bowling is an environment reporter for the Arizona Republic who’s written about this. He joined The Show to tell us about this plan to clear trees out of the forest while helping water supplies.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
