Bipartisan, independent think tank the Grand Canyon Institute released a new study last week. They looked at tax credit scholarships given to families in order to enroll in private schools and for ESA vouchers, or empowerment scholarship accounts.
They studied how these subsidies have affected private school enrollment and how much taxpayers have had to pay to foot the bill. This is an issue that voters will weigh in on soon — Proposition 305 is a referendum to allow all public school children to be eligible for empowerment scholarship accounts.
The Show went over the findings with Dave Wells, research director for the Grand Canyon Institute.
