ACLU Releases Plan To Reduce Incarceration, Address Racial Disparities In Prison

The ACLU has introduced a nationwide plan to reduce prison populations and racial disparities behind bars — problems that are even more of a challenge here in Arizona, according to Alessandra Soler, executive director of the ACLU of Arizona.

The report recommends a shift in drug policy, an increase in alternatives to incarceration and more attention on the front end of the system to decrease racial disparities.

The Show spoke with Alessandra Soler about Arizona's part in this report and how the state compares to the rest of the country.
