U.S. Deficit Creeping Toward $1 Trillion

The U.S. deficit is getting bigger.

The Congressional Budget Office this week reports the country spent nearly $900 billion more than it brought in during the first 11 months of the fiscal year — that’s $220 billion more than the shortfall at this time last year.

Alan Auerbach is an economist at the University of California, Berkeley — he specializes in tax and budget issues. He joined The Show to discuss the possibility of crossing the $1 trillion deficit shortfall earlier than what had been forecast.
