When a major hurricane hits, the price of gasoline often rises across the country. However prices aren’t reacting much to Hurricane Florence, which made landfall on the East Coast Friday morning.
“What's important to note is that there will not be a gas main shortage across the country as a result of Hurricane Florence," said Michelle Donati of AAA Arizona. "Instead we’re looking at temporary outages in certain areas affected by the storm.”
There are no oil refineries in the path of Florence, unlike other major storms in the Gulf Coast.
