Mesa Police investigated two separate school shooting threats Thursday — one by a 13-year-old girl and the other from a 14-year-old boy. Authorities located the students after concerning messages were posted on social media.
"Someone reported a couple of Instagram posts where a student was showing a picture of a gun of some sort and basically made a comment that they were going to of course shoot up the school," said Detective Steve Berry.
Both students claimed the posts were a joke. They have been charged with a felony count of interfering with an educational facility.
