Mohave County has recently acquired a state-owned communications vehicle meant for long-distance relays over rugged terrain.
The Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs gave the vehicle to Mohave County to use for emergency response, according to Havasu News.
The military-grade communications vehicle is a 24-feet wide van that has internet and satellite infrastructure.
The transfer from the state to Mohave County is free, with the state agreeing to pay for the satellite operations for two years.
Officials said it could be used for emergency rescue efforts and will cost about $400 per month for satellite after the two years are up.
