Senator Looking To Make Charter School Finance Laws More Transparent

State senator Kate Brophy McGee says she’s looking into changes to Arizona’s laws on charter schools in an effort to make them more transparent and subject to the same financial laws as district schools — and Governor Doug Ducey said  he’s on board with that effort.

This follows a series of investigations into charter schools, including several in which the operators of those schools have made a lot of money.

Arizona Republic investigative reporter Craig Harris has been doing that reporting, and he joined The Show to discuss it.
