U.S. Supreme Court Allows More Disclosures For Political Donations

Voters will be getting at least a little bit more information about politically active nonprofit groups and their donors — as we sit about six weeks away from November’s election.

The current eight-member U.S. Supreme Court decided not to overturn a lower court’s ruling that required additional disclosure — specifically identifying every donor who has given at least $200 to a 501(c)(4) or 501(c)(6) group that advertises in favor or against political candidates.
