Arizona Board Of Regents Study Finds Low Numbers Of High School Students Enrolling In College

Nearly half of the high school students in Arizona’s public schools did not enroll in college in 2017.

That’s one of the main findings of a new analysis from the Arizona Board of Regents on college enrollment and completion rates in the state.

The other main finding? When they looked at 2011’s high school graduates — they found just 27 percent had completed their four or two-year degree six years later.

That doesn’t look good compared with the rest of the country

ABOR Executive Director John Arnold joined The Show to talk more about that.

He said the report also breaks down its findings by both gender and ethnicity — and here’s more on what they found.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This story has been updated to correct the high school graduation year looked at in the analysis of college completion rates.
