Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake continues to speak about Brett Kavanaugh, following his surprise call for an extended FBI investigation into sexual assault claims against the U.S. Supreme Court nominee.

Speaking at the Atlantic Magazine conference in Washington, D.C., Tuesday, Flake said Kavanaugh’s anger was concerning.

“I told my wife, I hope that I would sound that indignant if I felt that I was unjustly maligned. But then it went on and the interaction with the members was sharp and partisan, and that concerns me,” said Flake.

The outgoing senator drew some compliments from some Senate Democratic colleagues but also fierce criticism from GOP voters in Arizona for holding up a nominee from a full floor vote.
